Operation Winter Hike

Operation Winter Hike

What we know so far:

3-5 days in Urho Kekkosen Kansallispuisto -national park. The trip will be done sometime during March, while there is much snow and minimum temperature.

You can see the initial trail plan here.

The more I research the matter (winter hiking), the more I come to realise how much gear has to do with it. Below is my winter hiking gear list/plan. I’ll update the list the more I have acquired or decided to take with me. You may notice some brands popping up quite frequently, and I must confess, I quite fancy Savotta, Fjällräven and Varusteleka (Särmä) as brands. All of them represent to me high quality and functionality. Gear becomes an enabler for my experiences in the wild, instead of time-consuming and frustrating tasks that need to be handled.
